Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked energy facilities, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes follow evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and officials were anticipating more assaults.
